First Steps...

Emergent Generation aims to connect and nurture a diverse network of young people (18-35) who are passionate about transforming our current farming and food system so that it is good for people and the planet.

Our experienced founders, young steering group members and volunteers all share the belief that the future must be based on deep and impactful agroecological and regenerative principles.

We work to foster new connections, nurture conversations, share knowledge, promote opportunities, build confidence and enact change.

The concept was born and successfully tested at FarmED, the Centre for Farming and Food Education in the Cotswolds, in 2022. With funding from WWF we hosted over 100 young people for our inaugural 3 day event.
We grew further in 2023 and ran a campaign workshop, a a number of online and face-to-face meet ups and farm walks across the UK, a session at the Oxford Real Farming Conference, a study tour to Groundswell and a summer gathering and skill share at Conygree Farm. We now send out monthly newsletters, keep members in touch via Whats App and run Speakers' Corner events online too.
We became a fully fledged and independent Community Interest Company in 2024 with help from a Farming in Protected Landscapes grant. We are now looking to reach out to a wider audience and deliver more events as we grow.
