About the event

Are you a young person with an in-person ticket for the Oxford Real Farming Conference?

The session will bring together an intergenerational mix of participants in an interactive workshop to discuss campaigns against genetic modification. It will include archive photos and footage of demonstrations, blockades and GM crops being pulled up. It will explore questions including: what ignited fires of resistance then, and what has changed? What can the food activists of today learn from the campaigners of yesterday? Are concerns about GM a thing of the past too, or should we be mobilising again against a new wave of GM?

If you're interested in working with multimedia and archive photos and footage, there are opportunities to curate an exhibition, source material or even edit a film. You might even find a photo of someone you know being famous. Contact Leonie Nimmo, Executive Director of GM Freeze, to find out…
